STD Testing Cost Without Insurance: Published Prices
Updated 2026-11-04
Without insurance, STD testing can cost nothing at a free clinic or a few hundred dollars for a full panel from an online lab-testing company. This guide lists published cash prices we checked on November 4, 2026. Prices change, so confirm on the company's site.
Low-cost and free options first
Before paying, check free and sliding-scale clinics. 3,495 locations in our directory list free testing and 8,600 list sliding-scale fees. Planned Parenthood says STD tests "can be quick, painless, and sometimes even free." See where to get free STD testing.
Published prices from online lab-testing companies
These companies sell tests online; you then give a blood and/or urine sample at a partner lab. Prices are self-pay and exclude any doctor consultation or treatment fees.

What drives the cost
- How many tests. Single tests are cheapest; panels bundle many infections.
- Test type. Early-detection HIV RNA tests cost more (STDcheck lists $129 alone or +$119 added to a panel).
- Where you test. Health departments and community clinics often use free or sliding-scale pricing.
- Insurance. If you have coverage, HIV.gov notes HIV screening is covered by most plans without a co-pay.
Not sure which tests you need? CDC recommends that a health care provider help you decide, based on factors such as age, sexual history and symptoms. See how STD testing is done.
